Artificial Intelligence as a Guardian of Advanced Human Rights: Indian Legal Context and Global Outlook

Abstract
Human rights are the inalienable rights of an individual that he gets as when he is born, irrespective of their caste, creed, and religion, such as the right to life and personal liberty, right to free from torture, right to equal treatment before law, etc., here with time and technological advancement rights have evolved as well, such as environmental rights and digital rights. Moreover, with the advent of human rights, various freedoms also emerged, including freedom of speech and expression, the right to assemble and form associations, freedom of movement, the right to reside or settle, and the freedom to pursue an occupation. Artificial Intelligence is a tool for thought, voice, direction, and change, focusing on overall development and the rights of people, which is required to safeguard human rights. There exist many AI tools that are serving to promote the rights & Freedoms of an individual, such as Gemini, Instagram, Google Maps, etc. But there are certain challenges because of a lack of guidelines as well, which need to be addressed. This research explores the changing nature and scope of Human Rights as well as freedom of a particular human being, why AI is needed to safeguard human rights, what AI tools are in use to promote human rights, the challenges with AI to safeguard Human Rights, the cases where AI cause violation to human rights and what measures are required to bring balance between innovation and Rights.
