Heidegger’s Concept of Technology in Relation to Philosophy of Economics: A Path towards Global Peace

Abstract

Economics is the backbone of any civilization. Currently, technological progress is considered the way to gain economic power. This paper critically explores how techno-economic thinking is relevant for our holistic development. 21^st century’s economic approach largely sinks with technological advancement. The war scenario is a prominent example of this. Moreover, Martin Heidegger was seriously concerned about the threat to human existence in the age of rapid technological advancement. While technological innovations, particularly artificial intelligence, have significantly enhanced human convenience and efficiency, they have also transformed the human relationship with the world in ways that demand critical reflection. This study focuses on how economic thinking explains human-centred science in a more hermeneutical and philosophical way. The paper concludes that sustainable global peace in the technological age requires reawakening humanity's poetic dwelling and cultivating a mindful relationship with technology and economics, affirming Heidegger's insight that "where the danger is, there grows also what saves."
